No one is born hating another person because of the color of
their skin or his background or his religion. We must learn to hate and if we
can learn to hate, then we can be taught to love because love comes more
naturally to the human heart than it opposites. Something very much true to in
the world we live in today, specifically the United States. A country that has
major cultural battles to this day. One being race issues. An internal
situation drastically killing and hurting the country we called the United
States. And something honestly not even being discussed but just being talked
about as a small issue. But we all know our smallest issues, is truly our worst
issues as well. And even though some may believe that it is not truly a major
short term issue, it will become a huge long term issue in the future. Race
issues have plagued this country since the beginning of time. Whether it has
been the abuse and enslavement of African Americans. The mistreatment and
extinction of all native Americans. The desperateness and mistreatment of
Hispanics. The extra abuse and hard time towards the Indian or Arabian people
due to the situation of September 11. And even the unnecessary insults and
depictions among Asian Americans due to world war 2. All these races have also
formed some type of stereotypes that goes along with each one of the races as
well. And throughout all our culture this has been spread from one generation
to the next. All of through as massive media. Whether it has been on TV shows,
radios, advertising, movies, newspapers, and even social media. All of it has
been shown over and over again to the people of the United States that racial
issues are either a big joke or just not important whatsoever. And when you
display that type of behavior people tend to believe it is okay to do the same.
To make race a joke. Or to show it has something that just a small issue. And
that's where the racial issues increase even more. And when will it stop? Until
its time for people to get hurt or even worse. This is something that needs to
be stopped. And it is up to us to stop it through the massive of our media. If
media is what increased it, then if we get them to make the changes necessary,
we can get the racial issues decreased as well. Our culture needs to change and
we have to be the ones to do. All races must come together, through the
adversity or event he silences in order to stop the oppression. We may seem as
if we are this true one nation. But in reality, we are just a divided nation,
waiting for the next break of racial issues to become a racial war. And once
that happens, the United States will fall in the blink of an eye.
This is where the cultivation
theory has truly become a major factor in the united states. Our culture is
truly who we are and who we may need to become. And over time most cultures
have made the changes in their culture to evolve and become something greater
than themselves. But the United States has not yet gotten that memo. They
rather let something truly horrible happen for them to finally see what they
need to do, which is to stop the racial issues. And one thing they can do to
change that is changing the way it is being perceived in our massive media,
that are displayed to us on a daily. They give people a false perception that
certain stereotypes and certain mistreatment are okay. Because if people can
find the time and the authorization to put this on national media. Then that is
a huge problem. And should be stopped immediately. And here is five examples of
different racial issues being shown throughout our massive media.
First, one that was depicted
through our cultivation was something found on our social media. Twitter is one
of our main known media outlets in this world. And our president of the United
States, Donald Trump decided to make a tweet. And even though, you have the
right to voice your opinion. It's a certain thing you cannot say especially
being the President. And this man made an outrageous tweet to tell four women
to go back to their respected countries. All women were different races such as
African Americans, Asians, and even Hispanic. Even if he didn't mean to say
something like that, why would you say something like that on one of the
biggest social media outlets in the world? He is running the country of the
United States. And he has already shown signs of racism by making tweets about
building a wall to shutout foreigners. And even made disrespectful tweets at
other races of color to show his dominance or even trying to be funny. He is
the president of the United States. And if people see the type of tweets that
have been displayed. Then everybody else is going to feel as if it is okay for
them to be just the same as him. And if somebody such as him can become the
President of our country, then anybody can. And even people from other
countries can see his material on twitter, can think of the United States
people as being nothing more than just racists and a joke.
The second and third ones are pretty much the
same thing. One of the biggest things watched among kids, teenagers and even
younger adults are animated tv shows. Which are cartoons but in more a grown
fashion. These shows can range up to Brickelberry, Family Guy, American Dad,
Simpsons, Futurama, and even South Park. The two shows being displayed through
this cultivation is American Dad and Family guys. The top two most animated
shows. And both of these shows portray the most racism than any other animated
shows. They use vast amounts of racism and stereotypical jokes throughout there
show. And people still watch them and just continue to watch them. The people
happening and haven't asked for an apology or to get an episode to be removed.
They just continue to let this show keep going on. And this isn't right at all.
They are showing the people racist jokes, and people continue to watch it. And
they do it over and over again. And many people don't say anything because they
believe this is okay. Watching this video is just disturbing and disgusting.
And throughout our cultural, these comments have been born and been accepted in
our society. And that's not okay. These stereotypes depicted on Native
Americans, African American, Asian America, and Arabian Americans is sad. The
most thing that these races have in common is there colored and went through a
serious of abuse throughout American history. And now in today's society, they
are still being abused and oppressed emotional, physically, and mentally. but
in this new era, it's not happening like how it did in the past. But it's
happening all over our mass media. These are on shows. That many young minds
see this. they look at these shows probably every day and every night. So their
minds are constantly funnily watching racist oppression. And these young minds,
are probably just laughing, thinking the stuff is okay and paying no mind to
it. But that's the biggest problem causing race issues right there. People
watching these shows thinking that disturbing stuff is okay and funny. So maybe
they think it is okay for themselves to make the jokes. And then others decide as
well to spread the stereotypical and racist jokes around the world. Only make
racial issues even bigger and okay to the world. And even then people think
it's okay for these types of actions. So if others were to say these jokes or
display on social media, people won't even blink an eye. Because if they simply
won't do anything for an episode, then what makes anybody think they will do it
then. And like I said before if people can post things like this on national
Television, then obviously higher-ups must not feel its not a problem as well.
And I understand about the whole freedom of speech and ideas. But when it is
just plentifully displaying stuff such as this, then where is the line. In my eyes
this is outrageous. And they have simply haven't got taken off the air or
anything. So they just continue to do what they want to do throughout all our
cultures. Only building and increase at racial issues at its finest.
` Also another thing that cultivates us through massive
media, is movies. Movies are the biggest influences throughout our entire
society. Many people watch movies for entertainment, love, action, adventure,
comedy, or even drama. People like to feel a certain connection within their
movies in order to relate and enjoy the movies. And various movies display a
lot of racial issues among movies. But there was a group of movies in
particular that I find very much upsetting and stood out the absolute most.
Many people don't even realize this. But a vast amount of Disney has been
portrayed to show vast amounts of racism. Key in mind Disney has been around
forever. This is simply a kid's show. Everybody in the 1980's group up watching
Disney. Many grownups even take their kids to learn, laugh, play, and even
watch Disney things. There is even now a label on Disney movies, telling the
people, "this movie displays graphical comments not up to date." Like
are you serious? Either remake those Disney classics or even delete them
forever. That is unacceptable. I understand people may have liked them in the
past, but they are of the highest stereotypical ad racist. And the main source
of people watching this is kids. So this even younger mind, that is just a
blank paper. Filling up all this material in their head, making them believe
that this is okay and creates in their head a miss interpretation of many
things. For example, Many kids will believe all native American dress up as
savages and as red men due to Peter Pan. There was Dumbo, that had a crow,
named Jim crow. Jim crow being a huge thing in the past the reinvented
segregation. And finally the most watch Disney movie, that being Lion King
shows a huge racial problem. The hyenas were played by mostly black characters,
demonstrated in the movie as being stupid, lazy, and being less than the lions.
Also, they lived in a graveyard, like a ghetto in the real world. Even though
these things are being talked about in the video. They are top Disney movies,
that are played constantly on Disney, movie theaters, and even top networks.
And this just builds even more problems with racial issues in American,
starting with the youth. And I hope people can now see in this society you have
many things leading up from older adults, adults, younger adults, teenagers,
and now kids. It all starts and has you can see it never ends. This is a big
indication of why our culture is being destroyed. Quietly but surely causing
racial divide and racial issues.
Lastly, cultivation is in this
sense try to help and bring light to an issue. This is something Washington's
paper decided to do a story upon. This is simply displaying the vast amounts of
artwork being vast amounts of racism being displayed. In this way, it's trying
to show and give light to an issue going on in today's society. They use
several arts. One is an art of various versions of oneself. Those simplifying
all the pain and hurt racism has put upon that person. But they don't look at
it, it has been just pain. But a way to strengthen themselves. To survive the
actual emotional, physical, and psychological abuse happening in society. Which
many people need that motivation to sometimes to keep going. If they already
have to deal with school, sports, work, family, their own personal problems.
The last thing they want to have to deal with the oppression and lack of
freedom society has given them. A second one was the stone mountain park. Which
is truly a beautiful site. But has a strong message of once a deeply racial
group known as the KKK that has memorial symbolizing them. And even then it has
general's on it that were on the southern side of the civil war. Meaning they
wanted to keep slavery in the United States, and went through an entire war to
try to keep it. Yet why is this here? We all understand this is something truly
apart if American history. But its something a part of a negative part of
American history. Why is it still up? Why is it still being represented? This
doesn't show any value or beauty towards America but only disgusts and
heartbreak that they would allow to still allow this to be up there. Another
very powerful one was about how we don't see the racism. Many people in today's
society tend to want to stay blind, deaf, silent, and even dumb as racism hurts
our reality. We must not let this destroy us but only to let the world know the
truth and destroy racism as best as they can. And last but not least, the first
one that was shown was a man being shown covered in cautious tape. 1this
meaning the injustice in America. This has been clear to the world time and
time again. But yet it continues to happen again and again. Like the situation
is unimportant. This isn't right, this is not justice, and this is not a true
nation.
